Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF)  Scholarships Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) is established under the Emigration Ordinance, 1979 and registered under Companies Ordinance on 8th July, 1979 as a Company Limited by Guarantee. The Board of Governors is supreme body and all operations of OPF are managed under overall control of the Board and policy directions from the Federal Government of Pakistan. The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) is an initiative of the Government of Punjab under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund is established with the objective of providing scholarships/monetary assistance to talented and needy students for pursuing quality education with equal opportunities. The PEEF was initially established with seed money Rs 2.00 billion in 2011, which now has been raised to more than Rs 17.00 billion. Since its establishment in 2009, the PEEF has awarded more than 235,000 scholarships

Special Quota Scholarship PEEF has allocated 20% of its total scholarships to Special Quota(SQ) category. The Special Quota Scholarships are awarded under five categories. Scholarships are awarded under following four categories: Orphans Children of government servants in BPS 1 - 4 (children of both serving and retired govt. servants are eligible) Special Children Children from minorities Children of Civilians Martyred in Terrorist Attacks Process For the Award of Scholarships A) Secondary Level Nominations for Secondary level scholarships are received through the office of Executive District Officer (EDO) Education, District Focal Committee (DFC), Directorate of Special Education and partner institutions. Newspaper advertisement is released and applications are invited from the meritorious students for secondary level scholarships The applications received are scrutinized and eligible students are shortlisted against scholarships allocated for each category .

PhD Level Foreign Scholarships The Govt. of the Punjab has launched "Shahbaz Sharif Merit Scholarship (SSMS)" under which eligible male and female students, as per the eligibility criteria set for this scheme from time to time, will be awarded scholarships for Ph.D level Education at the top ranked universities of the world. Shahbaz Sharif Merit Scholarship (SSMS) is a revolutionary step of Govt. of the Punjab which will enable the youth to study at the top ranked educational institutions of the world and play their role in strengthening & uplifting the economy of Pakistan. The scholarship scheme focuses the meritorious students of Punjab while allocating a special quota for the students of other federating units of Pakistan as well.
